But we’d all like to believe its real [NSFW language]

According to the YouTube Description

I got fed up with having my Jeep parts stolen so I decided to rig a package with a 12 gauge blank shell

I mean, I know people have their packages swiped all the time, but the way this is all setup feels awfully staged. Anyway, here’s hoping that all your car parts make it you.

My 2 cents say that “packagegaurd.com” has something to do with this.

Yeah, seems staged to me, too. However, we live in one of those neighborhoods considered “safe” enough to just leave packages on the step, and I worry. I’m surprised that we’ve never had stuff stolen before. I told my wife that it would be pretty easy to put on a UPS or FedEx uniform, get a van, and just go “shopping” through our neighborhood for Christmas presents. An unscrupulous person should be able to clean up.

Not sure. Kinda looked like one of those Nest “mystery solved” vids , but I guess that watermark is automatically applied to all videos taken with the Nest Cam?

My wife and I both work from home. And while our dog isn’t a barker, he’s a very good judge of “out of the norm” and will growl when something isn’t right. Thankfully, I like to think we’re fairly safe from porch pirates, at least. I guess if someone is right behind the UPS truck, we’d probably be hosed. We’re not THAT diligent.

I have to check 3 places to check for packages: front porch, in between my truck and carport wall, behind my truck by carport door (favorite place).

Our neighborhood keeps having packages swiped. I think I’m going to collect a weeks worth of dog poop for a dummy box. I should get a camera 1st though so I can at least get an image of the vehicle.

To be honest I’m almost surprised my packages have all made it to me (Have been there almost two years). It probably helps to have tall shrubs in front of the porch. Maybe something to consider if you’re concerned?

That’s a thought. One of the things that I think kind of helps is that we in our neighborhood look out for each other. If one of us has a package coming and won’t be around, we often take it in for each other.

Definitely having a relationship with your neighbors can be helpful. Unfortunately many on my street, including me, are renters.

Yeah, that can make you an easier mark sometimes.
